Seeing the Unseen: Pursuing God's Purpose
Day 4: By God's Spirit, Your Vision Will Come To Pass!
Read:
Judges 7:2-6
Judges 7:2-6
In Judges 7:2-3, God says to Gideon: “You have too many people for Me to hand the Midianites over to you, or else Israel might brag: ‘I did it myself.’” So Gideon tells the people, “Whoever is afraid may leave,” and 22,000 soldiers turn back, leaving 10,000 to face an enormous army of 135,000.
Despite the odds, God still says, “There are too many people.” To our human logic, this sounds absurd, but God doesn’t work the way we do. He’s not interested in numbers; He’s interested in His glory being revealed. God eventually reduces Gideon’s army to just 300 men. With that small group, God defeats the Midianites, showing that the victory was all His doing, not theirs.
Here’s the lesson: when God gives you a vision, don’t limit it by what you can see or by what resources you have. Stop measuring your ability based on what you think you’re capable of. God didn’t want Israel to think they won the battle by their own strength, and He doesn’t want you to take credit for His plans in your life either.
When God speaks to you, don’t check your bank account or qualifications before stepping into His vision. Trust Him fully. His power works best in our weakness, and He wants to do something great through you—not so you can say, “Look what I did,” but so you can say, “Look what God did.”
It’s time to stop getting in the way and let God have His way in your life. Trust His vision, even when it doesn’t make sense by human standards.
